Overproduction is when farms produce more than what they can sell through their contracts with the supermarkets. It's important to remember that they do not do this out of good will, they do it because they have to ensure that they have enough of the "pretty" vegetables, so that they can live up to their contracts with the supermarkets. Often they're forced to overproduce with 20-30%, and you will often find items in your box that is there because of overproduction. Actually 49% of the contents of our boxes are overproduction.
Did you know that one of the demands from the supermarkets for a pointy cabbage is that it needs to have the right sound? At EAT GRIM we don't care what sound the vegetables make, we just care that it taste good!
